Mama, you were given these children - you. No one else. You were given these children because you are who they need. You have the soul to love them even on the hard days . You have the motivation and love to give these children everything they need. You have the heart to wake up every morning and do it all over again, even when you are exhausted. You have the smile that they crave and the touch to make everything ok. You are their sunshine and their comfort. You are theirs and they are yours mama. On the days you are questioning yourself, remember this. You've got this.
Hey everyone! I NEED YOUR HELP!
I'm reving up my engines to being my work for the Beauty Revived 50 Beautiful Mother's campaign and I need your help! In addition to providing the awesome mama chosen with a free photo session with me, I'd love to put together an amazing care package to give to her as well! I'd love to fill it with products and/or services that reflect some of the amazing local vendors in our area. The vendors will be given a big shout out on my social media and blog.
So, I'm looking for your suggestions! What awesome local vendor or business do you think mom's would love a little something from? Do you own a business that would like to donate something? Do you have family or friends who might like to provide a little something to an amazingly deserving mama? Let me know all about it here, in a PM or via email at [email protected] and we can work out the details!
A little more information about this campaign... As part of Beauty Revived, a photography movement, I will asking for nominations for beautiful mothers in the Dundas area to be featured in an international magazine.
We all know those unsung hereos that live in our neighborhoods. You know the ones who constantly strive to serve and give to others no matter their own trials or circumstances. The winner will be given a free photo session with me and a feature in the Mother’s Day issue of Beauty Revived magazine.
I became involved with Beauty Revived because of all the crazy noise that is shouted at all of us, particularly women and mothers, from social media, the news, advertisements, other women, mothers, friends and family…to be, look, act and parent a certain way. The perfectly curated social media feed is not what we should measure ourselves up to…its just so crazy and unattainable and mostly totally unreal! The best way to be, is to be ourselves, whatever that means for you! All life is beautifully imperfect and worth appreciating and celebrating for what it is. Lets follow our own hearts, minds and paths and create a beautifully fulfilling life for ourselves, our families and our communities in our own unique way.

Happy Family Day, everyone ! Here's a beautiful mama & babe to make you smile 💛
I love photographing real life. The real moments, memories and beauty that is real life. Which is why I am so excited and honoured to announce that I have been selected as one of 50 photographers to be a part of the Beauty Revived 50 Beautiful Mothers Campaign!
Beauty Revived is an amazing community built by photographers with a desire to use their lens for good. The place for photographers to give back and challenge the world's definition of beauty. Telling the stories of real women with real beauty that inspire and uplift.
We all know those unsung hereos that live in our neighborhoods. You know the ones who constantly strive to serve and bless others no matter their own trials or circumstances. They are the ones with real beauty. And this campaign seeks to celebrate them!
You can check out to learn more about the campaign.

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SHARE! This is an amazing honor and I cannot wait to get started!! #50beautifulmoms#iambeautyrevived
Who doesn't love playing with #bubblewrap?! Such a great way to keep littles entertained when you're stuck in doors during harsh #canadianwinter. These two definitely took a different approach to the activity!
Hey everyone! There are some new friendly faces around here so I thought it was about time to say hello and introduce myself. Stop in and say hello!
So, here's me! I'm most often behind the camera and rarely in front. Thankfully I've got some super talented photographer friends like the lovely @sami_darlingmine who will take my photo and make me laugh while doing it! Thanks lady!
I'm a storytelling photographer here in the amazing #DundasOnt! I love working with families and couples who love the crazy wonderful that is real life. Hanging out at home, or adventuring out and about with the family....real life rocks!!...and makes for the most beautifully meaningful art for you walls. <3
I'm a huge #bookworm, collector of vinyl records, plants and pottery. I LOVE travel and adventure (give me all the stamps in my passport!!) but am happiest at home with my lovely hubs and our three and half year old daughter Elizabeth.
Currently I spend my days adventuring with my wee girl and working in the little moments between. You can most often find us hiking through the woods as we are lucky enough to be surrounded by conservation area just a five minute walk in any direction from our front door. Its seriously the best. I love being in the trees. I love them so much I have a huge on tattooed on my back. One of three tattoos and more to come I'm sure!
Weird facts about me:
1. I can wiggle my ears
2. I read the entire Harry Potter series every single year
3. I randomly break out into songs that I make up and mostly rhyme - sometimes there is a dance too...
4. I have been watching Coronation Street ever since I was a kid...never miss an episode...
5. I'm currently obsessed with travelling to Switzerland - if you have any travel tips, hit me up!
Wanted to extend a big thanks to you for being here! I've got some big plans for this space this year and I'm excited that you've decided to come along for the ride! ~Much Love~ <3 <3 <3

His card reads: "Mom, you are special because you give me hugs and do my laundry." 😍
The way to my heart would be something along the lines of "Make me coffee and take me to Disney"
Returning from some time away in Jamaica with my handsome hubs, actually our first trip together without our wee girl tagging along! While we were away she had an amazing time having sleep overs with both sets of Grandparents and I'm pretty sure if we hadn't called each day, wouldn't have even realized we were gone!
While it was a work trip for the hubs, an annual company conference, I had the chance to do...well...absolutely nothing. As a mother...it was glorious!
I attempted to sleep in...never able to sleep past 6:15 but what can you do... I read 5 books and started a 6th. If you're interested, my reading list included some light reading of two Hogwarts short story books, and Yes Please by Amy Poelher, as well as some business type books like Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg, Building A Story Brand by Donald Miller and Writing Down the Bones by Natalie Goldberg). We went parasailing for the first time which was such an awesome experience, enjoyed a relaxing massage and this crazy hydrotherapy thing where they basically dunk you in steaming hot water followed by freezing cold water a buncha times.
Dinners together and quiet afternoons on the beach while making sure to have a float or two in the ocean each day.
While the vacation was just what the Dr. ordered for us both, it was wonderful to return back home to our girl. We were greeted with big hugs and kisses and lots of "I'm so glad you're here!" and I throughly enjoyed settling back into the routine of reading her a bed time story, tucking her into bed and having a nice cuddle.
And in the morning she graciously offered to help us unpack! ;) Vacations are wonderful and I love adventure, but as Dorothy taught us all as kids "Theres no place like home".
It's Small Shop Saturday and today's featured goodie is from @chickadeechewelry ! I love this local mama's shop! Like how cute is this mini camera teether ? Cheers to a great work week ! (Even with a my soon-to-be-toddler glued to my hip!) I'm so excited for all of the fun projects and weddings booked for 2018! Now to look forward to the weekend - spending some quality time with my little family tomorrow! 💛
What's with all the elephants? Kathryn was named after her paternal grandmother. My hubby's family told me that Kathy loved elephants. So naturally, we gave our little Kathryn a herd of elephant toys. 🐘

This little girl - everything is for this little girl. She's the reason I'm choosing to believe in myself and chase a dream. She's the reason I am not returning to an office job. She's the reason I decided to take all of the big scary steps and make a passion my full-time career. Be brave for her. Create for her. Work hard for her. Be around for her. 💛 #mompreneur#motherhood#forher
This week’s new video is out on my YouTube channel! It’s about my first days in Canada. Check it out, link is in my bio :)⠀
👉🏻 @silviemelancolie ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
At the moment, while I’m waiting for moving to Toronto, I’m having the chance of enjoying some relaxing days in this place called Dundas.
It’s a small and quiet city, so typically North American: in the video you can take a look around! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You'll also probably laugh while hearing me making fun of my ridiculous hyper-sensitivity to the cold, of my survival "strategies" for Canadian winter, and of some more fun settlement moments I'm facing as freshly moved abroad!
Have you ever experienced a huge change in terms of climate, food, language and/or environment? How did you find it? I would love to hear some of your stories about what it feels like to live in a completely new but exciting universe :)
