#CaptainAmericaTheFirstAvenger is the 5th movie released within the Marvel Cinematic universe in the year 2011 and is directed by Joe Johnston and stars Chris Evans as the star spangled man himself, Captain America. In my opinion this is one of the best casting choices Marvel Studios has done so far.
So the movie is about Steve Rogers who is the most patriotic dude ever. It's during WW2 and even though he's small and sickly he still wants to join the forces and go serve his country in the war. Then he gets recruited into the super soldier program of the allies and so on and so forth. I really did enjoy the movie a lot. Seeing Steve go from being a kid from Brooklyn to a propaganda piece for the US government and eventually to Captain America is a lot of fun. Seeing the Red Skull and Hydra done right is very fun. Seeing the Howling Commandos is a lot of fun but the movie does have pacing issues.
This movie does feel like it takes a while to ramp up but it also feels like a lot of shit happens in it and that's because most of the first 2 acts are spent on setting Captain America up and once he is set up they montage all of his efforts in taking out the Hydra bases. So you know shit went down but you only get to see a fraction of it.
All that being said this movie is a must see before Infinity War since a lot of the Avengers set up is done here. There's a lot of good mixed in with some bad and I give this movie a 7.5/10.

#roadtoinfinitywar (late) week 7. This week: Iron Man 3. This is a wired film. And I kinda have a love/hate relationship with it. The film can sometimes be really entertaining and brings up some great ideas, yet it can also be really, really wired at times (I.e. Tony's anxiety attacks) and I have to talk about The Mandarin or Trevor Slatery. It's weird cause I think he is hilarious at times and sir Ben Kingsley does a phenomenal job portraying him, but I hate how they presented him as the MANDARIN!! (And I know the real mandarin is out there, calm down). It really sucks that they had all this build up in the first Iron Man, and now it's just been forgotten. If it had been any other villain I think he would have been better received. The performances are all fine, but the characterisation of @robertdowneyjr 's Tony Stark feels really weird, he goes from: "Hey I'm cracking jokes" to "IMMA KILL YOU!!!" Which feels kinda out of place. Director @bonafideblack 's strong points lie in the comedy (watch The Nice Guys for proof). I don't hate the film, but I don't really love it. It feels ok. Final Verdict: 4/10. Badass Artwork by: Luis Cavero () #countdowntoinfinity#countdowntoinfinitywar@marvel#ironman#infinitywar#marvel#avengers#watchtheniceguys
How to be prepared for the Infinity War?
Week 08: Thor 2:The Dark World <3 one of those mcu movies that I only watched once, and completely forgotten...although ive watched Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. before watching this...so I saw the aftermath of the whole Greenwich even before ^^;; But that Captain America cameo....filled with patrionism...GOD BLESS AME...
Over a week late, but I did watch Black Panther opening night, and it was better than I anticipated. With 2 great previous films, Fruitvale Station (full review on my channel in the bio) and Creed, Ryan Coogler has an awesome take on the MCU. Chadwick Boseman does a great job balancing his roles between the new king of Wakanda and the protector known as the Black Panther. Supporting characters like Okoye (Gurira), Nakia (Nyong'o), and Zuri (Whitaker) served their purposes and brings the culture of Wakanda to life! You can forget the previous comic book film bore that shall not be named (coughs Fant4stic), because Michael B. Jordan brings us one of most intriguing and best Marvel villains (a department they lack in) as Erik Killmonger. It's no coincidence that the Coogler and Jordan duo formula works well. Unlike most villains, you can sympathize with him and understand his motivation. Set designs and costumes makes the visuals pop and carries a distinction of one of the best looking installments! White supporting casts with Martin Freeman and Andy Serkis are well acted along with rest of the African cast. The humor is used sparingly in appropriate scenes. Is it perfect as most audiences say though? No. I do have a few nitpicks. There are some pacing issues after the exposition primarily after Killmonger is introduced, and fills in scenes, while establishing the world well, can feel a bit padding. Even Jordan, who I looked forward to the most, disappeared about 1/3 of the film to a point I almost forgot about him. Some score tracks that are great to listen to are sometimes put in the wrong scenes. And it mostly becomes just another Marvel film with the same formula towards the end with a climatic battle that feels too CG'd. Overall, it works as a standalone origin story just before we can prepare for Infinity War, it's well acted, and another darn great Coogler film to add to his filmography! 9/10 #wakandaforever#blackpanther#blackpantherreview#marvel#film#movie#mcu#ryancoogler#chadwickboseman#lupitanyongo#danaigurira#forestwhitaker#martinfreeman#andyserkis#michaelbjordan#moviereview#2018film#roadtoinfinitywar#10yearsofmarvel
| THE WINTER SOLDIER |
this is another real good movie. Captain America: The Winter Soldier was released April 4, 2014, and this movie definitely had the biggest impact on the MCU in my opinion. it was the Russo Brother’s first take on a Marvel movie and oooooh my goodness they did a beautiful job. the fall of SHIELD, the whole Bucky arc, the politics, everything was so heavy and so dark, but it worked, and the after effects it had later down the line with Agents of SHIELD and everything, it was so cool to see something that we’ve grown to love (SHIELD) just become completely corrupt (by Hydrya). this movie is definitely one of my favorites and it perfectly continued the growth of Steve Rogers’ character.
#RoadtoInfinityWar week 9! If you watch 1 MCU movie every week beginning the first week of January, you’ll finish the marathon the week Avengers Infinity War comes out! This week, CAPTAIN AMERICA THE WINTER SOLDIER! (Of course I had to do the best screenshot of anything in the MCU, the Bucky sexy walk)
Doing this one a bit early because Ray and I are in the middle of a move and next week is a busy week (more details later, still in our area) ANYWAY THIS IS ONE OF MY TOP FAVE MCU MOVIES. Like HOLY CRAP this was so unexpectedly good when I saw it in theater. This SOLIDIFIED Captain America being one of my favorite superheroes of all time, and my god is Bucky great too. Stakes are high, real threat, great story, INCREDIBLE action, this is just a pure gem of a film even aside from the Marvel label. High HIGH praises! Alright, enough typing, I could go on and on about my love for this film, Ray is watching this with me, let’s go! #hottoys
