Wickedly talented Cheadle - so versatile and smart. Too many great films to list them all; but must see’s are: Hotel Rwanda, Miles Ahead, Devil in a Blue Dress, Traitor, Traffic, and Reign Over Me. Obscure, but one of the craziest, wicked scenes, Cheadle as Kung Fu Kenny in Rush Hour 2. Ok, not an Oscar caliber film, but what a great scene with Chan and Tucker. And apparently his Chinese was pretty good.
Throwback Thursday: In the early days of Twitter people (sometimes famous people) would appear in your email if they like a comment you made. SInce then, there are no more emails from ANYBODY in my mailbox for "likes" and "retweets". It seems that the actions of many celebs are completely camouflaged from public view. Pity, I always got a kick when a celebrity's name appeared in my mailbox. Now, all I get is nuthin from nobody :( #tbt#twitter#like#melissamanchester#markhamill#lenarockerhall#doncheadle#aliceripley#missingyou
“ excuse me sir what are you loo .. ahh! .. shit! .. dear god! .. my brunch is ruined ! Ohh god!! What is that!!??“ someone less steeped in culture than me probably said, but definitely not me .
What I said was “ what a marvellous piece my good sir , may I purchase it? .. yes? .. my good man I am very poor and I can not afford that , or my meal that I ate , or the drinks I had , you called my bluff , well played, very soundly played my good man“
Then I took off my spetacles , polished them vigorously on my free #molson t-shirt I got in a box of beer, curtsied, turned, and then ran out of #thedrake hotel as fast as a cheetah with ‘reah .
I remember as a kid when I watched Iron Man The Animated Series, I was introduced to James Rhodes aka War Machine. James "Rhodey" Rhodes aka War Machine first appeared in Marvel Iron Man #118 in January of 1979, by David Michelinie and John Byrne. The War Machine armor, which became his signature armored battlesuit, was created by Len Kaminski and Kevin Hopgood. James Rhodes, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; was a lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps who served tours of duty in Southeast Asia. He was stranded in the jungle behind enemy lines after his helicopter was shot down by Viet Cong rocket fire. He encounters Iron Man, who escaped from Wong-Chu's prison camp in his prototype suit of powered armor, for the first time, defeating the Viet Cong soldiers that ambushed them. Rhodes took Stark's offer and became Stark's personal pilot, chief aviation engineer for Stark International, and one of Stark's closest friends. After an intoxicated Stark was defeated by Magma, Rhodes donned the Iron Man armor for the first time and defeated Magma. Stark asked Rhodes to take his place as Iron Man. Stark designed the "Variable Threat Response Battle Suit, Model XVI, Mark I" (nicknamed "War Machine"), a more heavily armed version of the Iron Man armor designed for all-out warfare. After Stark's apparent death in the comic book, he left Rhodes in control of Stark Enterprises as its new CEO, along with a new Variable Threat Response Battle Suit designed especially for Rhodes to continue the Iron Man legacy. Most of the character's appearances have been in animation, such as Iron Man (James Avery/Dorian Harewood), Iron Man: Armored Adventures (Daniel Bacon) and The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, (Bumper Robinson). In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the character is played successively by Terrence Howard and Don Cheadle. #jimrhodes#jamesrhodes#jamesrhodeyrodes#warmachine#doncheadle#terrancehoward#ironman#davidmichelinie#johnbyrne#lenkaminski#kevinhopgood#marvel#marvelcinematicuniverse#comicbooks#misfitcomics#Blacksuperheroes
Iron Man 3 (2013) Spoiler Review Part 2
The real villain is Aldrich Killian. He's a good Marvel villain. He just fell flat in the final battle. It felt wierd, & a little out of place that he had his shirt off, showing off the crappy CGI tattoos while he was fighting Iron Man.
Harley- He was good "side kick" to Tony, & he wasn't really annoying.
The 2 main side villains were ok. They just felt like they were on & off. That made the villains bland.
One of the other negatives I have with this movie is when the Malibu Mansion is being attacked, Stark doesn't think to tell Jarvis to contact an Avenger, or Shield, or activate all of the Armors that waere under the house! So Nick Fury shows up in Iron Man 2 to talk to Tony, & he doesn't show up when Tony is presumed dead. Ok. Maybe Iron Man 3, Thor:The Dark World, & Captain America: The Winter Solider take place at the same time, or maybe Marvel wasn't up for Team up movies early on in the MCU. So, Overall Iron Man 3 was good, just not great. Another thing I didn't like with the movie was that there wasn't enough Iron Man action. It was mostly Tony fighting in fragments of the suit that wasn't 100% which became annoying at times.
This is how I rank all of the Iron Man movies from worst to best:
IRON MAN 2
IRON MAN 3
How would you rank the Iron Man Trilogy, & What did you think about Iron Man 3?
The next movie is Thor: The Dark Shit. I mean Thor: The Dark World. I remember leaving the theater hating that movie because it had too much comedy.

#IronMan 3 (2013) Spoiler Review! Part 1
I like the tone for this movie. It worked for a post Avengers Iron Man movie. The CGI in this movie was great. Except Killian's crappy fire tats. The action was mostly great. The the mansion attack was very well done,The scene when Tony saves the people from the plane was gret. The fight in Killian's mansion when Stark's Iron Man parts were flying in was very good,The battle in Tennessee was a little underwhelming,& the final battle was great, & intense. The MK42 Suit up was very enjoyable to watch.
#TonyStark- I really like Tony's story in this movie because is a more personal story. The question in this movie for Tony Stark is "Does the man make the suit, or does the suit make the man?" That is executed in this movie very well.
#PepperPotts- This is my favorite movie that Pepper has been in. She gets into the action, & It was great to see. I liked that in this movie, she wasn't just an assistant to Tony.
#JamesRhodes- This is also my favorite movie that Rhodey has been in. Same thing with Pepper, he is more I. The action. He was great in the final battle. I liked the Iron Patirot armor, but it does feel like a Captain America version of an Iron Man armor.
The Mandrin- Oh boy. Ok. Ben Kingsley's performance was amazing. The Mandrin was menacing, & scary for 50% of the movie. Then it turns out that, it was just a guy named TREVOR Slattery acting as The Mandrin. Trevor was funny, but I think the movie would've been better if The Mandrin for the first half of the movie is the movie's villain, then halfway through the movie Mandrin & Aldrich have a big disagreement, & Mandrin kills Killian, & the movie continues. That would've made the movie much better.
This review is continued in part 2.
