Yesterday I shared a picture of me drinking some exquisite glacial runoff. Pictured here is the glacier I was standing on. Those black specks left of the center are actually massive glacier excursion vehicles, not people. Just a reminder that we are infinitesimal pieces of this planet, and that we should be doing the most with our time here!
Columbia Icefields, Jasper National Park
Is there anywhere better in the world than being in the mountains?! Because I could stay out here forever 💛
I’ve started to plan my next trip! And you better believe it includes some mountain hike, a few pubs and some amazing waterfalls! Any guesses as to where I’m headed?
And yes, that’s me in the photo, walking towards the beautiful Athabasca glacier!
From the air is only way to be able to grasp how big & powerful the Columbia Icefield actually is... I'd always dreamt of seeing this place & after some unideal weather the previous few days the skies cleared just in time for the doors of flight. It's like looking through a window back in time to when the earth was a much more wilder more unforgiving place... Mt Columbia 3,747m.
